Up for auction is this fantastic 1924 Rookwood vase, shape # 1815, executed in a wonderful light caramel matte glaze with a beautiful deep blue "pepper" overglaze. Although I have seen this vase on Ebay a number of times, I think this glaze is what sets this particular one apart from all the rest. Eight (8) dutiful Rooks parade around the vase near the base, while the shape reminds me of a TECO vase with its small buttressed supports. This is just a super vase, worthy of any collection and/or arts & crafts decor. Check out all the photos to see what I mean... This fully signed and dated Rookwood vase stands 6.75" tall and is appx. 2.5" wide throught the slightly swollen middle area. The top, rolled edge opening is 1.75" in diameter (interior edge to interior edge) while the very slightly footed and glazed bottom just a tad over 2" in diameter. Marked with the Rookwood stamp, the roman numerals for 1924 and shape number of "1815". The inside of the vase is glazed with just the light caramel matte glaze. Further, this Rookwood vase is in absolutely MINT ORIGINAL condition. T are no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs and/or retouches on this vase whatsoever. T are NO marks or pops at all, and t is absolutely NO crazing. How often do these come along with such an outstanding glaze and in MINT condition?
