This is an older machinist tool set for measuring screw threads. The set includes 10 gages in sizes from 1/4"-1" A.N.F.-CLASS 2. The instructions on how to use these gages are printed on metal plates inside the felt lined case that holds each of the gages firmly in place. The instruction: 1. clear thread of dirt, chips etc. 2. expand gage by depressing lever & insert screw. 3. release lever & take a micrometer reading over the coil. 4. compare measurement with the limits engraved on the plate. (each gage has limits engraved on it.) This set in in good+ condition, each gage and the case are nicely engraved. Each gage is also marked "MADE IN ENGLAND". The case is also in good+ condition with minor scuffs and edge wear. A great used set for inspection precision threads!
