I prefer junk silver over silver rounds or bars for the following reasons: Easily recognizable - The U.S. Mint is about as well know as they come Easy to sell or trade - People are less skeptical about buying a US coin vs. a silver round from an unknown mint. Less chance of counterfeit coins Smaller denominations - If you're preparing for inflationary times like a lot of us are, smaller qty's of silver will come in handy in barter situations. Smaller premiums over spot pricing Description This auction is for OVER a 1/2 Lb (8 ozs / 7.29oz troy / 227+ grams) of 90% silver pre-'65 US coins in a mixed lot of Half Dollars, Quarters and Dimes. (no nickles-don't be fooled, war nickles were only 40% silver) You will receive more than a half pound (227+ grams) of 90% silver US coins hand selected from the pictures shown (Understand that the picture represents a few pounds of coins from my collection and you will receive a portion of the lot).
