B. Owens Utopian art pottery c1890. This is a 5 1/2" squatty bulbous vase richly hand painted with four yellow and light brown daisies. Made with the standard light green to light to dark brown glaze that J. B. Owens is famous for. The piece has a bulbous middle tapering to a narrow top and bottom. The hand painted four-daisy decoration is large with yellows and light browns over long and large green leaves. The typical Owens standard glaze is light green on the front fading to light and very dark browns. Typically textured hand painting expertly done. Hallmarked on the bottom OWENSART UTOPIAN 1 1048 . Condition: Excellent. Not a single chip, crack, fleabite or hairline. Delicate glaze crazing consistent with age. One glaze pop on the back. Excellent Owens Art Pottery dating to c1890. Dimensions: 5 1/2" high with a 1 7/8" diameter base. Top rim diameter 1". 4" wide at the bulbous part of the body. This is investment quality art pottery offered with no reserve.
