Clean image of a white owl in relief on base of colbalt blue porcelain thimble. c. 1983. *SPECIAL NOTE: After seeing this Owl Thimble on the GoAntiques Network site, THE DAUGHTER (Deborah Nuttall Richardson) OF THE ARTIST WHO MADE THIS THIMBLE (Richard [Dick] Nuttall) WROTE ME THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE: "This is a note to inform you that this Owl thimble is in relief, not embossed. My father made these thimbles under the business name Porcelain by Nuttall. Rae is his wife who handpainted [them]. The Owl and the thimble are one piece. The Mold was carved with the owl in it. He poured the white, then let it set, then poured the blue over [it]. My father, Richard(Dick) Nuttall is the mold maker and hand made each thimble, along with other great porcelain items.
