BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE CRESCENT SHAPED PORCELAIN OYSTER PLATE Made by ABR. FRENCH & CO. in BostonIt is very rare to find a marked plate by this company.On the underside is painted the number 3992 and under that 83 which stands for the year 1883.The number 6 is imprinted on the underside.This plate has a wonderful provenance.It comes from the south's famous Orton Plantation outside of Wilmington, North Carolina.The palette is yellow and pink with gilt decoration.It is approximately 9 inches long.It has been used and the paint is worn in areas. There is one very small chip on the rim that appears to have been retouched with a gold color.Please see the photos.This plate would make a great addition to any oyster plate collection.If you have any questions please email us and we would be happy to answer your questions.
