THIS IS A SET OF SMALL OYSTER TONG HEADS THAT ARE ATTACHED TO LONG SHAFTS TO GRASP OYSTERS FROM SHALLOW WATERS. IT IS ILLEGAL TO HARVEST OYSTERS BY HAND IN MARYLAND. VARIOUS METHODS ARE USED TO BRING THESE DELECTIBLES UP FROM THE DEPTHS. IN THE BAY HYDRAULIC PATENT TONG RIGS ARE USED IN DEEP WATER. THEN IN THE CREEKS AND RIVERS LONG SHAFT TONGS WITH WIDE HEADS ARE USED FROM A STANDING POSITION ON THE DECK OF A WATERMANS BOAT. EVEN WHEN DIVING ONE MUST USE HAND HELD TONGS. THESE ONES ARE USED FROM THE DOCK OR A BOAT WHEN YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE OYSTER IN SHALLOW CLEAR WATER AND CAN BE BROUGHT UP ONE AT A TIME. THEY ARE MADE FROM STAINLESS STEEL WHICH IS RARE SINCE MOST ARE WELDED FROM HARDENED STEEL SIMILAR TO A GARDEN RAKE. THESE WERE MADE YEARS AGO AND GIVEN TO A WATERMAN THAT NEVER USED THEM. THEY ARE DESIGNED OFFSET SO THAT THE SISSOR ACTION OF THE TWO SHAFTS WILL CLOSE AROUND THE CATCH AND LINE UP PERFECTLY. I ACCEPT CHECKS, MO'S AND PAYPAL. CHECKS MUST CLEAR AND IF YOUR MO LOOKS FUNNY TO MY BANKER, IT MUST CLEAR AS WELL. GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR LOOKING.
