A cabinet photograph of P.T. Barnum by Eisenmann, dated 1886. Front of card features portrait of Barnum, autograph and lists Eisenmann with the 18 W. 14. th' str, N. Y. address. T is some wear along the edges, particularly at the top. The top left corner has been bumped causing surface loss. Top edge, center, has another bump, as if it were crunched downward from reckless filing or mishandling. The main body of the photograph is in very nice shape with some light age spotting. The autograph and date are written on the photo in ink and are sharp and clear. Back of the card shows the Eisenmann name and address again with "Photgraphs + Crayons + Oil Paintings" printed along the bottom edge. Same top edge defects as on the front, but less pronounced. Charles Eisenmann is famous for photographing side show performers, including Barnum's, and in this case photographed the master showman himself.
