Offered for bid is a set of original British Pattern 1908 web equipment, consisting of a Waistbelt, Frog, Braces, Cartridge Carriers (Left & Right), Haversack, Waterbottle Carrier, and Intrenching Implement Carrier.
The set is in very good, strong, usable condition, ready for display or the field. Details of the pieces: Waistbelt. Very Good condition, no tears, light fraying on the ends, very slight tarnishing on the brass, the markings are very faint, but it is possible to read the size "L /|/". Braces. Good Condition, no tears, light fraying, very slight tarnishing on the brass, no government markings visible, the inside of one brace is hand lettered "STURGES". Cartridge Carrier, Right. Very Good condition, light fraying, some machine repairs on the canvas, very slight tarnishing on the brass, all the snaps are present and work, there is a brownish light soiling, the markings are faint, but they read: "M. E. Co. 1918 /|/ R". Cartridge Carrier, Left. Very Good condition, light fraying, some machine repairs on the canvas, very slight tarnishing on the brass, all the snaps are present and work, there is a brownish light soiling, the markings are faint, but they read: "M. E. Co. 1918 /|/ L". Intrenching Implement Carrier. Very Good condition, no tears or fraying, very slight tarnishing on the brass, marked "H, G, & R, Ld 17." on the inside, the outside rear has a stamped mark "U.C.I." which stands for United Costumers Incorporated, a 1930's Hollywood costume house later bought by Warner Brothers. Waterbottle Carrier. Very Good condition, no tears or fraying, with greenish blanco and brownish soiling, very slight tarnishing on the brass, the snap is present and works, the markings are faint, "M. E. Co. 1918", "/|/ 359". Frog. Good condition, one small fray on the center back, slight rust staining on front, markings obscured by blanco. Haversack. Very Good condition, no tears or fraying, very slight tarnishing on the brass, lightly blancoed light green, the interior divider is intact and in good condition, marked "M. E. Co. 1915 /|/".
