This is a Pacific Fast Mail [PFM] HO scale brass CROWN Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac 4-8-4 steam locomotive by Fujiyama. This model has exacting details right down to the conduit providing power to the headlight on the prototype. According to the Brown Book of Brass and enclosed documents with the model, it is from the Governor series 601-606. It is equipped with a Vanderbuilt type tender with 6 wheel trucks. It has full backhead detail, includes added weight for boiler to increase traction, and comes with a set of specialty decals by Terry Industries complete with instructions for painting and correct placement of lettering. Shipment will be made using original factory box, but not all original protective foam. Unfortunately, locomotive has been exposed to the all too common use of foam protective packaging foam which deteriorates over time. In this case, the pilot, top of boiler, and cylinders have the most accumulated foam residue and will need special cleaning effort prior to painting. The open frame motor operates and the mechanism is free of any binding. It appears that the connection between the motor and gear box is slipping, resulting in sporatic running on the test track. A new owner must be prepared to disassemble the locomotive to clean, lubricate the mechanism and make the necessary repairs to the drive system.
