O Scale brass Pacific Limited (Pat O'Boyle) USRA double-sheathed 40' box car, part number PL 900. Over 24,500 of these cars were built by at least five companies in 1918 and 1919 to the standardized design of the United States Railway Administration, one of the most successful of the era. At least twenty different lines put their herald on this piece and they lasted well into the 1970s. This a great piece with complete underbody detail including all brake gear and even has Andrews trucks built especially for this car. Even the roof walk is wonderfully rendered with the nicely detailed wood engraving, and the ends have the very distinctive 5/5/5 pattern. The opening doors really look nice and the locking hardware is as good as it gets. The deep fish-belly frame and K brake system make it even more interesting. A train of these cars would be an impressive sight to say the least painted in any scheme, especially with the deep fish-belly center sills. The model has never run and is as pristine as the day it was built except one roof rib has a broken solder joint. The car was built in Korea by FM Models Precision and includes the original box and packing. Put this in a manifest train and enjoy real contrast to the average box cars. Pat imported about 60 different O scale cars. His attention to detail was (and still is) some of the best read more
