This is a vintage mid century Northwestern Coast tribal folk art- a ceremonial wood carved Fish-Salmon-Rattle musical instrument. Made in the mid 1900's, or later, likely to be the Haida or Inuit tribal made. Artistically hand carved and stained Salmon rattle with details, loaded with visible dried wood nuts inside, distinctive sound begins when shaking, measures 16" tall, weight of this musical instrument is close to 1 lb. In workable good condition, there is a seam line on the fish belly, don't think it is a crackline. This is an extremely rare and collectible Northwestern tribal folk art !! A live size Salmon fish carved from a single piece of wood, with big wood nuts inside the belly to make sound !! We do world wide shipping and prefer PayPal.
