I just got back from Ireland and while I was t I was in County Tipperary visiting our old friend and the best woodworker in Ireland, Padraig Fogarty. Padraig Fogarty is the most accomplished wood worker in Ireland. In his little shop in Thurles, County Tipperary, Padraig imports mango and shisham wood and turns timber with a Celtic motif. And what we have is a magnificent hand-made, hand-carved coaster set with six gorgeous timber coasters and a fabulous wooden coaster case. If you're tired of your plastic coasters or tired of putting that Diet Coke on a paper towel, then maybe you need to upgrade and if you're Irish or Irish-American this is the way to do it. I love the Celtic endless knot design that can be found in the Book of Kells at Trinity College in Dublin (that would be in Ireland, not Ohio). This is a gorgeous hand-carved wooden coaster set. Padraig made this Celtic endless knot coaster set out of imported Mango wood. If you have a drop of Irish or Celtic blood in you this is the coaster set for you. The coasters are 4" square. When I visited Padraig in County Tipperary he told me that he loves to work with Mango wood because of the texture and the workability of the wood. Well, Padraig created a masterpiece with this one.
