This is an extrodinary late 18th C. paint decorated blanket chest over two drawers. It is completely original, including the hardware. The paint decoration was exquisitely done to give the illusion of a more expensive wood of the time. The detail (as can be seen in close ups by request) is amazing. It has its original cotter pin hinges on the lid with original lock (no key). It has high bracket feet and as stated before, original pulls. This piece came out of a home in Connecticuit but originated in the north shore Massachusettes area. It measures 21" deep by 43" wide by 36-1/2" tall.
Ca 1880-1890. A superb piece of true Early American paint decorated furniture! Dealer discounts available upon request with tax ID#.
