Painted Ponies Children of the Garden - 1st Edition Retired - RARE - Less than one full edition made! Children of the Garden is part of the third release of Painted Ponies released in January, 2004. It was retired in September, 2004, with the last figurine made being numbered 1E/9800. Artist: Connie Garcia This delightful creation by a "tile artist" who designs handmade tiles tells a story of children racing across a magical garden on the back of a magical horse. A place w, in the artists words, "For a magical moment the 'real world' was not allowed to encroach." On the original Pony, the children, bugs and flowers were all formed in clay and fired for hardness before they were hand painted. This pony is in its original box with styrofoam, collector's booklet, and hangtag. It is being stored in its box in a smoke-free home. This pony is numbered 1E/6942. I have looked this pony over carefully and can detect no obvious cracks or chips in it prior to shipping. Please note that some ponies (particular older ones) may have minor imperfections or show signs of touch-up, such as underpaints or overpaints (as most ceramic and some resin pieces do) that occurred during manufacture, as each one is hand painted. Most painted pony boxes have shelf wear or the tag may be creased or slightly bent; this does not affect the pony in any way. read more
