American, late 19th century. A painted slate game board, having a central, incised checkerboard with alternating black and marbleized squares surrounded by a green inner border and a wide black outer border, the outer border embellished with stylized sunbursts at the corners separated by pyramids, PLUS a folk art walnut game board with mother-of-pearl inlay, dated 1893; larger 22.25 x 22.25 in.Condition:Both game boards with some surface wear as would be expected from age and use. Slate game board with some chips and scuffs. Some later paint touch up to one side of wide black border.Provenance:The Collection of Dr. John and Shirley Chewning, Cincinnati, Ohio
