Jessie Wilcox Smith's illustrations for the Good Housekeeping Covers havebecome a collector's item. 1) This adorable girl and boy are carrying a basket of fall's finest apples. The cover appeared on the October 1920 issue and is complete with the binding. As shown there is a tiny rip on the bottom of the binding and top and a small wedge on the upper right corner. Otherwise in remarkable condition. An ad for Dromedary canned coconut appears on the reverse side. 2) April 1920 Jessie Wilcox Smith cover of a child dressed in her fine attire, labeled "Spring Fashion". The reverse side is for the Briscoe light weight cars. The touring car sold for $1185. Amazing a car ever cost that! The cover is in good condition but not perfect. As seen there is a 1.5" tear. Color is still very good. I have lots of these if anyone is interested in the lot. They have been stored all these years in a dark drawer and have retained the colors quite nicely. Most of them are also in excellent condition.
