PAIR 1920's BAKELITE SILVERPLATE AND BRASS OPERA GLASSES Unmarked Dimensions of the actual opera glasses in closed position: 9.2cm wide x 5.3cm deep A very pretty small pair of Art Deco 1920's cream bakelite, silverplate and brass opera glasses with original blue velvet purse. Condition The silverplate is in excellent condition with hardly any wear. The bakelite is excellent with just a tiny chip to the edge of the central bakelite focus wheel. The lenses are clear and in good condition apart from a very thin 7mm scratch to the inside of one lens, with a little dust inside. There is a replacement modern screw in the end which is the wrong type of screw as the glasses do not currently extend. There is some minor wear to the black enamel around the lens's. The velvet to the case is worn but there are no splits or holes.The case still opens and shuts and the metal clasp works well. It has the original cord handle, metal loops and lining which is intact.
