This auction is for a pair of 1956 California license plates with a 1962 sticker, the license plate number is "TED 203". These plates are made of aluminum and have remained in very nice condition, with minimal signs of age and/or use, they still have a nice sheen in the paint, especially the front plate. The deformation in these plates seems as if it is from stress in the stamping process, as they both have the same deformation, it is the same on both plates, they nest together, as can be seen in the photos. This set of plates were found screwed to a shelf were they had been hanging since the old guy had removed them from his car in 1962, the front plate was behind the rear, protecting it from time. I purchased and removed them from their resting place, washed them carefully and am now presenting them for sale, these will clean up very nicely.
