This is a NO Reserve auction. You are bidding on two tubes. While the printing says "Rogers', these two tubes are actually vintage Amperex ECC83 12AX7 made in Holland . They are the same tube as the famous Bugle Boy D-getter ECC83 12AX7 , one of the best sounding 12AX7 ECC83 ever made. Rogers was the Canadian importer of tubes of the Philips group (which included, among others, Amperex, Mullard and Valvo) during the 1950s and 1960s, so Philips tubes imported into Canada at that period were printed with the "Rogers" brand name. That's why you see on the glass envelopes "ROGERS" and "PAT. CANADA". These two tubes are totally identical in construction : grey plates, horizontal D-getter with the foil strip , copper grid rods, and criss-cross top. They both have the same two-line date cod e of "mC4" and "delta7F", meaning that they were both made by Amperex in its Heerlen plant (delta), in June ("F") of 1957 ("7") . ("mC4" is Amperex's internal product code for ECC83 12AX7.) On a TV-7D/U, w the minimum acceptable for the 12AX7 ECC83 is 32, these two tubes test extremely high and as-new at 53/52 and 58/60 respectively, so chances are that they are new tubes . The tubes will be packed as strong as can be to protect them from damage and they will be shipped by post (including delivery within Hong Kong ). Shipping and handling within read more
