Great pair 19thc brass andirons probably made in Pennsylvania. They show period construction with hand forged iron log supports. Acorn topped brass columns are held in place by iron rods run down through the underside of columns. Three spurs on each iron leg that end on ball feet. They have a darkened patina and are in terrific condition. One has a "rough" place on the back that cannot be seen from front. See pic. Normal wear dings to columns and fire pitting to iron log stops, overall good condition for their age. They have not been cleaned in any way. These are primitive as the iron log stops need to sit on something to make them level. See pics. This style was popular early to mid 1800's. I am not an expert, info is from research that I have done also from conversation with gentleman that I purchased from. These belonged to his grandparents and were In their house in Boston. His grandfather wrote for the Boston Globe. 18" tallMany of the items I sell are antique/vintage and are sold as is. Please keep in mind that antiques, vintage and previously owned items may show signs of visible wear, discoloration, embedded dust or patina (the good stuff) that is considered normal and part of it's appeal and charm.Customer Satisfaction is extremely important to me.
