No.28, 29 Whenever people speak of "Jingdezhen", they will think of its exquisite and noted porcelain wares. Jingdezhen was formerly named Changnan and Jingdezhen porcelain industry was quite developed in the Song Dynasty. In the 1st year of the Northern Song Dynasty, the emperor Song Zhenzong appreciated the porcelain for its royal use so much that it was renamed Jingdezhen (Jingde town), Jingde was the name of the reign in the Northern Song Dynasty. Then, emperors through the dynasties afterwards established "Imperial Kiln" or "Official Kiln" in Jingdezhen to specially make porcelain for royal use or for diplomatic gifts. Jingdezhen was one of the Four Major Towns in Ancient China. It is the birthplace of the Chinese porcelain industry and it dominates the highlight of ceramic arts kingdom in the ceramic historical development. The reason why Jindezhen enjoys such a high reputation is because its porcelain is characterized by the terms of "as white as jade, as thin as paper, as bright as mirror, and as resonant as chime." Jingdezhen traditional porcelain including blue and white, rice pattern, family rose, color glazed ware and porcelain sculpture has elegant shape and rich decoration, which fully reflect the profound meaning of the Chinese people. Jingdezhen porcelain is treasured as the bright pearl of human art palace. As early as the 17th century, the European imperial palace was proud of the collection of Jingdezhen porcelain wares.
