Offered: This Pair of matchingTransitional Pendant Lighting Fixtures date to the Turn of the Century period 1900 to 1917. They are quite unique and unusual in that they incorporate pronounced design elements from multiple popular Early Electric styles. The adjustable conical cast iron ceiling canopy and steel pipe stem, as well as the cast brass chain links and lantern cage, are finished with a jhand-forced hammered surface texture characteristic of the Arts and Crafts Mission style. The irregular chain links and the curving encised lines on the Gothic acanthus leaf lantern cage are vestiges of the Art Nouveau Movement. These 90 year old early electric lighting fixtures are in excellent restored original condition with a mottled antique brass patina that ranges from amber to dark brown. Each lantern cage has four adjustable fitter screws with small ball knobs. Each lantern cage has its original keyless brass shell, paper insulated socket that is stamped 250 W HUBBELL 250V. The pendant lights recently have been rewired with nylon-armored wiring sheathed inside woven fiberglass loom and provided with a with a bare copper grounding wire with a crimped closed ring terminal.
