What a rare find! You have a great opportunity to purchase 2 fine-quality, original, antique pairs of door knobs made during the 1880's. Each knob is made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze--not plated iron. Each pair comes with 1 spindle and 2 brass or bronze setscrews.Each knob has sunken center, and an intricate pattern on both front and back sides. The designs are complemented by a rich, dark patina, which we opted to leave. We wiped the knobs with an oil-soaked rag to make them look their best for the photos. However, we didn't remove any of the patina. If you prefer your hardware bright and shiny, we could clean and polish the bronze either completely or partially, for an additional $10/pair-- let us know after the auction if you are interested . The knobs were salvaged from Northeastern Iowa, and were found in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, chips or deep scratches.
