Fine Pair of Antique Chinese Kangxi Period Porcelain Plates! This piece is part of a collection of Chinese porcelain and silver we will be offering that we acquired from the estate of Dr. H.A. Crosby Forbes. Many of these pieces have collection labels still intact, please view our other auctions. Dr. HA Crosby Forbes was the great grandson of Captain Robert Bennet Forbes and also the founder of the Forbes House Museum in Milton, MA. (formerly known as Museum of the American China Trade), as well as the Curator of Asian Export Art at Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA and co-authored the book on Chinese Export Silver. This beautiful pair of antique Chinese porcelain plates are decorated in a blue and white floral pattern. They have collection labels on the reverse with catalog numbers and Crosby‘s initials HACF. They date from the Kangxi period circa 1662 - 1722 and measure approximately 10 + ¼ inches diameter. They are in excellent condition with the exception that one has a hairline coming off from the rim, as can be seen in the photo. Also they both have some age appropriate wear to the surface of the glaze, along with some typical glaze loss / flecking along their rims. Shipping & Handling charger will be paid by Buyer. For domestic (USA) shipping we offer only USPS Priority Mail, unless item is over 25lbs, at this point we will read more
