Description of item for sale: This pair of beautiful blue & white ginger jars is from the Velsen Delft porcelain factory in Sassenheim, Holland. The typical Delft blue artwork is all hand painted and very nicely done. Note that these two jars were made by different artists (initials on jar bottoms) and some of the artwork details are slightly different-especially on the lids. These jars are quite large-note dimensions below. They are octagonal, not round. Velsen used the mark shown on these jars beginning in 1936. We judge these jars to be from the late 1940âe(tm)s or early 1950âe(tm)s by the high quality of the artwork. (see Discovering Dutch Delftware by Stephen J. Van Hook, p 89). T are absolutely no chips, cracks, discolorations or other damage to these jars. Dimensions: 17 ½" tall, 10 ½" diameter.
