I bought these chairs in London in the early 90's. I was told at the time that they were of Spanish or Portuguese origin and 18th Century. They are made of wood and upholstered in what I understand to be the original hand painted leather. Unfortunately I don't know much more about them but am very happy to facilitate viewings. The leather seat pads were both damaged when I bought the chairs; each has a small tear in the centre - I have attached photographs. I don't know if this is something that could be restored or not. The tears aren't obvious at first glance and they could be 'glued' together but I haven't been brave enough to do it!The chairs have been well looked after and kept in a non-smoking home.
