DESCRIPTION: Rare and Fabulous and HUGE vintage 50's pair of Archemide Seguso Murano lamps which I believe to be manufactured by the famed design house of Marbro Los Angeles (though they don't retain their stickers) and which are insanely gorgeous. Puleguso controlled bubbles with 24 karat gold adventurine hand blown expertly and smoothly throughout, creates a luminous aubergine and plum color combination that was almost impossible to capture and even more difficult to describe, but the color is exquisite. Pictures just don't do these beauties justice but when you see them in person if you're the lucky winner, I assure you they'll take your breath away. They are substantial and much heavier than any of the other Murano I've handled, and they also have a visual weight and gravity to them that balances the innt levity the myriad colors of Murano glass bring to a decor. In other words, they're fun and colorful, but have a sculptural aspect to them as well that can anchor any interior at the same time. Back to the incredible color, I have to mention that they are never just one color: In a bright room full of natural light they show hints of cherry and the gold sparkles through the glass, but in a darker room or at night when lit, the adventurine over the plum combines into an amberish glow which is etal and soft. I mentioned they were heavy but seriously, these are the heaviest most substantial Murano lamps I've had to date and they're absolute knockouts. These are not chintzy glass lamps folks - they are significant and important pieces or art glass which will continue to appreciate over the years. Archemide Seguso passed away sadly in 1999 and auction records show his work increasing in value yearly. These were exquisitely executed and are elegant examples of his work. They retain their original hardware, brass caps and brass laurel wreath bases. D on't forget to check out my other auctions! CONDITION: Near MINT, Glass is perfect. (brass bases have a couple of minor signs of age but can be polished up) MEASURES: 36"H to finial, 24" to Cap DELIVERY: Can be delivered to UCLA ( Tues/Wed) or USC (Mon, Thurs/ Fri) campuses during weekdays for $25. We Do Not Deliver anyw but those two places . SHIPPING: These will be expensive to ship as they are oversized as well as extremely heavy. They CANNOT go Greyhound (We don't make money on shipping. We are only concerned about your item arriving safely. Charges include packing materials. Please understand that these are rare and important pieces of glass which require special packing and delivery to ensure their safe arrival. International delivery to Europe is available but again, will be pricey. They will likely cost around $150 to $200 PER BOX to ship as insurance will be a good portion of the charge, and most shippers will not send items like this by ground. PICK UP: You are welcome to pick up in Newport Beach for no charge but Must be picked up within 10 days or item will incur storage fees of $10 per day tafter. Item needs to be paid for within 3 days even if picking up. PAYMENT: Please do not pay until you receive an invoice from us!
