I am selling a pair of Chinese porcelain jars, sans lids, covered in a striking monochrome sacrificial blue glaze. In my opinion the jars date from the late Qing period, 19 th century and were made during the Guangxu reign. The paste is fine and the glaze expertly executed. The glaze has a slight purplish hue that does not show in the photos on my monitor. The jars are approximately 7"(17.7cm) high and about the same in diameter. The condition is good with some small chips on the inner unglazed rims and small scratches to the glaze of both jars. The glaze, near the foot has some rough spots w it ran and stuck to possibly rice husks or something similar that was used to keep the glaze from sticking to the kiln floor during firing. An incredibly beautiful pair of vases, which would make an excellent addition to any collection. Insured shipping for the pair will be $30.00 in the mainland US, if you want it shipped to Hawaii, Alaska or anyw else in the world please email me for shipping cost. I am very careful about packing, most items are double boxed so rest assured you will receive the piece undamaged and as described. I will be selling many pieces of ceramics I have collected over the years in the next few weeks, so please make sure to look at my other auctions, I am certain you will find them interesting. I accept Paypal, M.O.'s, and checks - if you are an international buyer you will need to use Paypal.
