American, 1760-1780, walnut with old finish. Cabriole legs with acanthus carving and ball and claw feet, slip seats reupholstered in floral brocade, pierced splats with carved detail and crest with carved ears. Imperfections. 17"h. seat, 38"h. overall.
Condition: Three of four knee returns are replaced on both chairs. Most of the glue blocks are replacements. the splats have breaks and repairs.
