PAIR OF DERBY FIGURES C1780 HERE I HAVE A FINE PAIR OF DERBY 18TH CENTURY FIGURES THESE FIGURES ARE KNOWN AS THE FRENCH SHEPHERD AND SHEPHERDESS. I HAVE NOT SEEN A FINER PAIR OF DERBY FIGURES TOGETHER. THEY DISPLAY SUPERBLY AND ARE WELL DETAILED AND MODELLED LOOK AT THE WAY THE SPANIEL CLIMBS UP THE SHEPHERD AND THE WAY THE SHEPHERDESS IS HOLDING THE BABY LAMB. BOTH FIGURES ARE OFFERED IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH ONLY A FEW MINOR ISSUES. SHEPHERDESS FIGURE HAS A NICK TO THE URN BESIDE HER, THE LAMBS EARS ARE A BIT ROUGH BUT NOTHING REALLY MISSING, HER NECK MAY HAVE BEEN RESTORED BUT I'M NOT SURE. SHEPHERD HAS FIRING CRACK TO RIGHT ANKLE SEE FIRST PHOTO, RIGHT ARM HAS BEEN RESTUCK CLEANLY AND A VERY TEENY NICK TO THE TREE BRANCH THAT IS HANGING OUT. BOTH FIGURES MARKED TO THE BASE WITH INCISED '6'. THESE FIGURE ARE WELL DOCUMENTED IN DERBY BOOKS AND GUARANTEED TO BE EARLY DERBY. SIZE: SHEPHERD 5.5'' HIGH, SHEPHERDESS 5'' HIGH
