Hello. Bidding on a pair of 3 drawered Dorothy Draper chests. Black lacquered cases with incised detailed gold designs to the drawers. Metal swinging brassed ring hardware. Dovetailed drawers.
Size: 38" long x 32" tall x 18" deep. Condition overall is fair to good to these cases. T is moderate wear throughout, i.e. scuffs scratches, minor veneer loss, and lacquer loss in some places. The tops have the most wear with a fair amount of scratching, scuffing and some lacquer blistering and loss. The pieces have some touch ups in areas including some noticble areas on the top. They still present overall pretty well, but probably should be refinished, if so desired. Some wear to the hardware finishes. Because of the nature this piece, we would recommend a blanket wrapped shipper such as Plycon. If we ship them, they could go only Greyhound for @ $200 for the pair, but please note restrictions and liabilities if you choose to have us wrap and ship it. I would estimate the weight between 80-100lbs. Our zip is 46260. Please read carefully: is our policy on shipping, we generally use either DHL Ground or Greyhound for items under 100lbs. In some cases, because of size, Greyhound may be the only option if we ship the item for you. We have found over the years that Greyhound is a little safer shipping larger items, because of less handling in the shipping process. They will also deliver door to door in some cities. Please call your local Greyhound Package Xpress if this is something you are interested in, and if it is an option in your location. Otherwise, you will need to pick it up at the terminal. PLEASE NOTE: the downside to shipping with Greyhound is they will only insure an item for up to $300. Please, specify which service (DHL or Greyhound) you desire if you have us ship the item. We would also encourage that you arrange for your own preference of shipping, notably blanket wrapped freight or local pick-up as this has proven to be the safest and most reliable delivery method. If an item is over 100lbs or is very large, you will need to arrange for your own shipping. We would recommend Plycon. You can get a quote online from their website. You can also shop competitive quotes at . PLEASE NOTE: if you decide to have us ship, we will apply insurance to the shipment, but will not take any responsibility for any lost or damaged item. We will file a damage claim on your behalf, but will not be held responsible for the outcome of the claim. We have packed furniture for years, and know how to do it correctly, but shipping accidents occasionally occur no matter what precautions are taken, especially with glass or marble items. We would strongly recommend that any item with fragile materials be shipped with a professional packing service or freight company. Please note our shipping policies as a stipulation for bidding. Also note: because of increased volume, please allow @ 2 weeks from payment for delivery. Also Note: No refund will be given, partial or full, unless an item has been significantly misrepresented. The items we deal in are vintage by nature, and commonly have the type of wear that you would associate with a vintage piece that has seen typical use over the years, including, but not limited to: light scratching, scuffing, minor edge bruising, some light finish wear.
