A pair of vintage, Italian Chiavari chairs. The chairs are made of the lightest of wood yet are incredibly sturdy. The chair from this region inspired Gio Ponti in designing the Superleggera chair. The idea is that a child can lift a chair with one finger. The chairs have a total height of 35 inches, seat height of 17.5 inches and seat width of 16.25 inches. The wood is in good condition with light wear marks and patina. The seats are still very sturdy yet each has a couple of broken points on weave in right edge and one has two breaks at front edge (see close-up). The chairs could be used as they are as the seats are still solid enough for seating support. Please email any questions. Ref: Eames era provincial inspired design.
