This is an early PAIR of Mettlach Villeroy&Boch steins, ewers, pitchers. They are in beautiful condition with vibrant blue and yellow nouveau art design on a stark white background. Vertical colonade etching is not visible in my photos as it is very subtle but I feel adds to the desirability of the pieces. The steins measure 6 inches tall, 6 inches wide from handle to tip, and approx. 3 inches deep. Both pieces are marked Villeroy&Boch Mettlach and the numbers 1086 Geschutzt in blue and some incised pottery numbers a large 3 on one and 8 on the other and it looks like four smaller numbers in a block next to the 3&8 . This pair is a rare and wonderful addition to any collector. T are no breaks, cracks or chipping on this pair. On the bottom of one of the pieces t is a smooth flake missing which measures 1/4 inch by 1/8 and is clearly shown in the pictures which I never noticed till now and is clearly visible in the photo with the V&B mark. I pride myself on being totally honest with my buyers and if not satisfied I will cheerfully return the bid price. So happy bidding I think you will be very pleased.
