signed Steuben Teardrop Candlestick Pair designed by David Hills c.1949 SIMPLY MESERIZING!! Consider this beautiful vintage pair of signed Steuben Teardrop Candlesticks , a mid century design by David Hills, your perfect choice for dining by candle light. This estate find pair of candlesticks are very fine each with very large centered hand blown teardrops. T are some minor condition issues with this pair that do not affect their use. Both have light scratching on the base bottoms, one has a very small chip on the bottom edge ( 3/8" x 1/8" ) and the other has a small stress crack in the candle cup that you have to look hard to see. They are the same height at 4.5" and the base diameters are the same at 3.5". They are each fully signed "Steuben" in script in the center of each candlestick. These have the heft and clarity to the glass that is a Steuben hallmark. Steuben is noted for their rigorous attention to detail and for their superb quality. Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903 and is located in the Fingerlakes Region of New York State. By following strict standards for design and manufacture they have achieved recognition as the worlds premier glassworks. Steuben is a luxury brand and they have no "sales".
