Thisis one truly awesome pair of vintage French Country painted, carved, and caned armchairs. Only one is shown in the photo since we had to pack the other to get an idea of shipping costs. They are absolute beauties and top quality. The chair backs are slightly curved, making them as comfortable as they are gorgeous. The sink-right-into them cushions are stuffed with down. The frames, I'm pretty sure, are solid walnut and the chairs are actually fairly heavy....nothing flimsy about these! The original French blue paint has that shabby you know what look....a bit chippy and mellow, with an undercoat of white peeking through...... so very pretty! Delicate flowers were carved into the top of each chair back, on the bottom of the frame and on each leg. The upholstery is in excellent condition, almost mint, and the cushions are reversible. Even the base of each chair is completely covered in this lovely floral fabric with colors to match most decors....this is only done on high end chairs I have seen. The chairs are 36 7/8" tall to the back center carving by 26 5/8" wide x 27" deep front to back and a 19" seat height from floor to seat. I would love to have these picked up at my home in Maryland , but can ship them via DHL as oversized packages. The cost to ship to the east coast will be approximately $ 160.00 and $ 200.00 to the west coast. They need to be shipped in two packages. Shipping to lower 48 only! Actual cost will be determined at the end of the auction. I am a very careful packer, but can't be responsible for packages once they leave my hands. DHL shipping includes insurance.
