PAIR OF GEORGIAN SOLID SILVER SPECTACLES EXTENDING ARMS + GREEN SHAGREEN CASE A Pair Of Antique Georgian Solid Sterling Silver Reading Spectacles + Case . This is a Georgian pair of solid silver reading spectacles with extending arms, which are both stamped with the London Lion passant which was used from 1796 to 1815. The lenses are good condition with no chips just a couple of very light surface mark & hardly noticeable. Both arms shows signs of an old repair. The green shagreen case as a push button hinged opening & both work fine. The top vacant cartouche & metal rim fittings are silver, the bottom fitting is just white metal & I think was added at a later date. The shagreen covering has allover wear with some losses around the opening, please see photos. Measurments Frame width 11cm, Arms extended 16cm, Lens 3.2 x 2.5cm, Nose bridge 2.5cm.
