MEISSEN PAIR (2) OF SHEPHERD & SHEPHERDESS FIGURINES c.a. 1860 For your consideration…a STUNNING pair of shepherd figurines by Meissen (models by J.C Sch ö nheit and Acier). Both figurines have the same incised numbers and lithographer numbers. The Shepherd (figurine #1) features a young man wearing brightly striped pants, sky-blue jacket and festive waist-scarf. He stands beside a tree stump with his black hat upturned -- inside the hat are three small eggs. Exquisite details include the eggs as well the delicate lace on his cuffs. The Shepherdess (figurine #2) features a young girl wearing a brightly colored eighteenth century dress with bonnet. She lovingly ties a ribbon around a tiny lamb resting on a stump. Exquisite details include the lace the size of string attached to her dress and apron as well as the delicate ribbon around the lamb’s neck. Circular key-pattern bases painted in Roman gold. Under glaze hallmarks in blue feature double crossed swords. Impressed marks include “F68 ~ 43”. Lithographer’s number “47” in gold. Being such important figurines (the Sherpherd alone sold at Bonhams for 1900 £ ), I will include all questionable imperfections (see below under condition). MEASUREMENTS Shepherd #1: Height 7”; Length 3.25”; Width 3” Shepherdess #2: Height 7.25”; Length 3-3/8”; Width 2.75” CONDITION OF SHEPHERD #1 The
