A highly stylized and most decorative pair of International sterling silver serving compotes. The compotes are cut from the original dyes of Simpson, Hall & Miller who were absorbed by International in the late 1890's. The compotes are highlighted by shell shaped double handles along with repeating vertical line patterns in both the pan and base. A further carved V pattern inner circle adds to the glitz and glamorama. Each compote is 6 1/4" in height with a 6 3/4" span across the pan from handle tip to handle tip. The base is 3" in diameter and the combined weight is just over 10 oz. on a postal scale. The compotes are solid sterling silver and not weighted or reinforced. The set is in excellent condition but one of the stems shows a noteworthy 1 1/4" ding along the edge. The compotes stand straight and true and have a magnificent appearance. Great accents for any table or sideboard.
