China, mid 18th Century, porcelain. Undulating rim having three decorated branches sloping to slight cavetto of four medallions surrounded by repeating pattern above a landscape painted well, all in underglaze blue. 1.5"h. 12.5"diameter.
Sold by Christie's Amsterdam on April 28 - May 2, 1985. From the legendary ship Geldermalsen, of the Dutch East India Company, sank January 3, 1752. Both plates bearing the Christie's Nanking Cargo sale sticker to underside.
