You are bidding on a pair of beautiful, very old, black lacquered, folding, Japanese hanging shelves . The shelves are handmade with very delicate hand painted designs of birds, fish and flowers. I am not sure of the age of these items but they look quite old and are stunning collection pieces.

The colors are rust, gold, mellow silver and green.

I hope the photos show accurately how refined these hand crafted pieces are. They measure each 10 1/2 inches high and 7 1/4 inches wide. The shelves fold and when unfold, they stay open and tight with tiny hinges under the shelf (see photo).

They have some very small and faint scratches and spots due to age, but that doesnâe(tm)t take away at all from their beauty, on the contrary it somehow adds to their authenticity. I have not and will not try to restore those insignificant imperfections.
