Pair of very nice vintage Black Forest Lamps! Purchased, along with many other vintage German items, from the estate of a woman who traveled frequently to Germany prior to 1960. I believe these are fairly rare, because the others I've seen do not have the dog, just the hunter. The colors are still very nice. Hunter and dog are on a removable, pegged wooden bar. The leaf on the tree is also pegged. Lamps are in very good condition wih only a few small scuffs and a small crack in the wood on one of them as shown in one of the pictures. The shades have some problems, but nothing that cannot be easily repaired. On one shade, t is about a 2" chip on bottom rim and a crack on another panel. On the other shade, an owl has broken off, t is a little warping of the wood on a stag cutout, and the top needs to be repaired. Cloth behind panels on shades have some spotting but it does nothing to detract from the beauty of the shades. Shades have a few other small scuffs that come with vintage pieces. Lamps from bottom to top of shade stand about 29". Base of lamps are about 17 1/2". Still have European (?) plugs, so I cannot guarantee that they work. One of the cords appears to be in good condition, but the other has some punctures in it. Push button on/off. This lamp has no markings that I can find, but I also purchased a similar lamp marked "Made in Western Germany ." I also know that the owner of the estate this was purchased from was a collector of Black Forest items until her last trip to Germany in 1960. I've included several pictures. Please look at them and read the description thoroughly. I am no expert in vintage lamps but have tried to describe the lamps in detail, along with their flaws and known history.
