Antique English Oak Barley Twist Chairs This listing for a pair of fabulous English oak barley twist chairs. They are eye-catchers with their beautifully turned barley twist legs, which are complimented by the mission-style backs and the final treat, the lovely floral carved feature on the top. The oak wood has a beautiful patina, and the tapestry fabric covers on the pop-out seats are pretty, clean and ready to place in your home. Of course, if your color scheme is different, you can change the upholstery with a few yards of fabric and a stable gun....(I assume everybody knows these seats just come out easily when you push them from the bottom........so to change the seat cover, you just cut a square of fabric, and staple gun the chair seats on the backside. That is the beauty of these type chairs, you can technically change their "upholstery" with every season........think about it, different color for Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July......!!). The chairs are in very good condition, with only normal signs of wear and aging (nicks, scratches, etc); they are sturdy and strong and sit solid and square.
