PAIROF CRACKLE GLAZED GE-STYLE BALUSTER VASES

Origin : China.

Age : 19 th Century.

Size : Each 8.25âe high, 3.25âe wide (21cm high, 8cm wide).

Design : Beautiful pair of Guanyin shape vases, with a greyish-beige crackled âeoege-styleâe glaze, brown glaze dressing to the rims, and relief decoration of flowering plum trees in mirror image (signifying a true pair) in brown and white.

Mark : None.

Materials/techniques : Porcelain with applied sprig moulded relief decoration, crackle glazed with an intentionally darkened crackle.

Condition : One vase is in perfect condition, the other with a small half inch wide segment broken off from the rim and amateurishly reglued, and a very small chip to the foot-rim (see photos). No cracks, and no further chips or restoration apart from that already mentioned to one of the vases.
