PAIR OF LARGE VINTAGE AUTOMOBILE HEADLIGHTS-C.M. HALL PAIR OF LARGE VINTAGE AUTOMOBILE "SOLAR" HEADLIGHTS MADE BY C.M. HALL CO.
These old headlights have been in an attic for 60 or 70 years. I believe they are made of nickel plated brass. The lenses are in perfect condition. The bulb holder is missing from one and t is a dent on the rim of one. T is quite a lot of information on the lamps: on the metal is inscribed "C.M. Hall Lamp Co. - SOLAR - Model 1130 - Kenosha Wis. U.S.A." On the lens: Flintex - and - Jeannette Glass Co. - Jeannette, PA. I was not able to discover what make of car these lights were for, but did find some information on the Jeannette Glass Co. They were making carbide bicycle lamps in 1899. In 1917 they bought the controlling interest in American 3-Way Luxfer Prism Co. to ensure the supply of prism glass. They sold this business in 1926, after which it looks as though they concentrated on kitchen glassware. So one might conclude that these lamps were intended for an automobile made sometime between 1917 and 1926. Further information would be appreciated. The lights measure 9-1/2" in diameter, the lenses 7-1/2". From a private collection. Please check our feedback and bid with confidence.
