Gorgeous pair of poplar chairs. Pierce carving is effectively represented. The back is nicely carved with acanthus and floral inspired motifs at the top and bottom. The seatrail is also adorned with acanthus. A lovely, ornate stretcher is connected to the 2 front legs. Circa date 1860. This set is simply beatiful! Dimensions 49.25"high/ 19"wide/ 17.25"deep.
