Pair of champleve candlesticks, 21" high, 6" base, brass with creature-form handles and feet. Four enamel bands: (1) figural, (2) brocade, (3) network, (4) floral. One candlestick is in very good condition. The other has a bend to the top rim, with a small dent underneath, and a couple of small dimples in the lower portion above the feet. It also has several pot metal repairs that are ORIGINAL to the piece (because the background design is impressed on them), and some enamel losses in the bottom band that also appear to be original. Probably Chinese, late 19th century. This is the tallest pair of champleve candlesticks I've seen.
