This is a Pair of Original Tiffany Studios Leaded Stained Glass Windows. I was given an old newspaper advertisement showing these windows being offered for sale by the late Bob Ogorek of Plantation Galleries (see scanned image). The current owner purchased these windows from Mr. Ogorek around 1980. As you can see according to the advertisement the windows are from the Church of Unity in Cleveland Ohio where they were installed from 1903 to 1969. My guess is Mr. Ogorek purchased them directly from the church in 1969. Here is a pair of Tiffany Windows although they are unsigned you at least have provenance of previous ownership. Please Note: The windows have double layers of glass like most tiffany windows, the background glass installed in the left window appears to have been replaced as there is no damage, the background glass installed on the right looks more like the original tiffany glass to me. The problem is some of those panels have cracks and they have been glued. There may be some minor cracks in the rest of the window glass but nothing that needs to be replaced. If you were going to use the windows in the same room in your house you may want to have the background glass changed so they both match. That is the only thing I see that you may want to do. That also explains why they are different colors in the photos. The description from the Plantation advertisement: The castle is structured of glass ranging is colors from a pastel yellow to a fiery yellow and then recedes into a deep rum hue. Each steeple and pillar has a light yellow left side with a deep amber hue on the right illustrating a sun setting over the castle. Each opening of the castle is comprised of richly striated glass in hues of blue and purple. All of the top section has a double layer of blue mottled glass, diffusing light for the proper illumination and added strength of this window. The castles moat is depicted by the use of heavily mottled blue glass. The vibrant colorings of the castle and moat are dramatically enhanced by the serene blue-lavender mottled skies. The windows measure 5 feet 1/2 inch tall by 4 feet 6 inches wide. The windows are still in their original frames. There has been a "shadow box" built around them and fluorescent lamps installed behind the glass. They can be mounted on a wall or sat on the floor against a wall. They do not need to be in front of a window or installed in your house to be enjoyed. For some reason they installed 3 lights in the right one and only 2 in the left. They probably realized they only needed two lights. Also, for the last 20 years the windows have had Plexiglas covering the front of them. This keeps the glass from getting damaged and also makes cleaning easier. The Plexiglas is starting to turn yellow in places so you may want to replace that or remove it altogether. It has also been speculated that these windows could be the top portion of a much larger window. That could very well be the case, and that would explain why they are not signed the signature would have been on a lower portion of the window. In this way the windows are of a more usable size, not too many people can put 14 foot tall windows in their homes. More photos available on request. NEW LOWER PRICE!!!
