A spectacular pair of fine old French opaline vases, each one hand decorated in thick gold and silver enamels that rise from the surface like jewels. The pair are perfect for use at table or on your mantel, or atop a pair of wall-mounted bracket shelves. With or without a bouquet, these are exceptionally beautiful. They date to Napoleon III era, (approx. 1850-70) or perhaps a bit earlier. They are in remarkably fine condition, and it's rare to find the old matching pairs, both still intact. Nice sized, they'll show off a dozen roses in each, or your own beautiful bouquets. Very good to excellent condition, with little loss to the ages apart from a light bit of rubbing to the gold around the upper rim. The raised gold and silver that decorates the set is just superb - opulent and will take them from French silver settings through a meal to the vermeil settings at dessert, and still match everything perfectly.
