These are a pair of old original p ortrai ts. I have listed them as Victorian only bec ause of th e sty le of dress and hair, there is nothing on th e pictures to say the actual date they were pai nted . The actual paintings are in good clear condition, the surrounds and backs of surrounds are age marked. If there appears to be a white fuzzy area around the man's beard this is only a slight reflection and does not actually exist on the painting which is very clear. I am selling the paintings unframed but have included some pictures of one of the original frames to give an idea of what they looked like framed. I have only ever owned one original frame, the other came to me in a modern frame because the original matching one had broken. The remaining original one is in such poor condition I am not willing to attempt to send it. The co The back and surrounds of the paintings has writing that is clearly notes from the artist. The back of the female painting says "Very little colour in face, black dress, gold jewellery". the surround of the male says " hair black, brown eyes,color nice fresh".The size of card they are mounted on differs slightly, the male is 13" x10.5" and the female 15" x 11".I cannot see an artist signature on either.
